From best-selling Western author B.D. Kennedy comes Cheyenne Trail, a blockbuster new Western that takes on the West with full-force. If you like your Westerns action-packed, fast-paced and filled with the bodies of dead murderers...you will love this new Western adventure from one of the great Western storytellers of today. Fresh from West Point, Lieutenant Holcome is expecting a nice cushy job serving in the back water of the army as a quartermaster. His father, a congressman, has different plans for his son and has a high-ranking general send him off to the Wyoming Territory, where there is an Indian uprising underway. Lieutenant Holcome is forced to grow up fast as he is assigned to quartermaster the relief column taking desperately needed supplies to Fort Steele, located in the heart of the uprising. The lieutenant is taken under the wing of the column commander, Colonel Sutton, against his wishes as they march off to bring relief to Fort Steele. The column comes under siege by marauding Indians and is soon cut off from the trail as the Indians massacre the troopers. Colonel Sutton is forced to take desperate action and sends Lieutenant Holcome on a death defying ride to garner reinforcements from the beleaguered fort. This is the gritty story that takes the listener on a life and death battle against the bloodthirsty savages of the Wyoming frontier. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Ken O'Brien. But then Jamey’s father sends him, along with five other kids, back to the Moon to escape a political coup d’etat that has occurred overnight in the United States. Moreover, one of the other five refugees is more than she appears. Their destination is the mining colony, Apollo. Jamey will have to learn a whole new way to live, one that entails walking for the first time in his life. It won’t be easy and it won’t be safe. But Jamey is determined to make it as a member of Lunar Search and Rescue, also known as the Rangers. Klondike

With the building of the railroad and the settlement of the plains, the North West was opening up. The Klondike stampede was a wild interlude in the epic story of western development, and here are its dramatic tales of hardship, heroism, and villainy. We meet Soapy Smith, dictator of Skagway; Swiftwater Bill Gates, who bathed in champagne; Silent Sam Bonnifield, who lost and won back a hotel in a poker game; and Roddy Connors, who danced away a fortune at a dollar a dance. We meet dance-hall queens, paupers turned millionaires, missionaries and entrepreneurs, and legendary Mounties such as Sam Steele, the Lion of the Yukon. Pierre Berton's riveting account reveals to us the spectacle of the Chilkoot Pass, and the terrors of lesser-known trails through the swamps of British Columbia, across the glaciers of souther Alaska, and up the icy streams of the Mackenzie Mountains. It contrasts the lawless frontier life on the American side of the border to the relative safety of Dawson City. Winner of the Governor General's award for non-fiction, Klondike is authentic history and grand entertainment, and a must-read for anyone interested in the Canadian frontier.
